Proxxon Long Neck Grinder

I'm at it again, modifying a new tool to work better for the way I need it for my woodturning processes.
The
Proxxon Long Neck Grinder
is the ideal size for getting into small bowls and hollow forms. If you carve your turnings it is very controllable and easy to use and has variable speed. It comes with a sanding disc that is overlapping paper but I needed more softness behind the 2" disc.
I destroyed the sandpaper on the sanding disc and cut a piece of high density foam (from an exercise mat) and bonded it to the plastic disc with contact cement. I cut the center out so I could mount it on the tool. I used contact cement to attach a piece of velcro and voila! A new disc with softness that allows me to use the
2" Sanding Discs
I already have. I'll put an interface pad on it to save the velcro from getting damaged. Now I can reach in and around turnings that my other sanding devices can't reach.
It works for me.
