Wood News is BACK!

For the first half of Highland Hardware's 27 years of service to woodworkers, our Wood News newsletter was the store's number one way to keep our customers informed and help them learn more about woodworking. When we merged Wood News into the Highland Hardware catalog in 1992, the old out-of-print issues eventually became collectors items.

Thanks to the internet, Wood News lives again! Highland Hardware customers who've sent us their email addresses in the past will now receive Wood News electronically. For FREE! Each issue will feature articles about new tools, techniques, projects, books, events and other items of interest to woodworkers.

As with the original form of Wood News , we actively solicit contributions of editorial material (articles and photos) from our customers and readership, and for every one we accept and publish, we will compenstate the contributor with a store gift certificate. A thousand-word article with photos earns a $100 HH gift certificate. The amount of the gift certificate is prorated for shorter or longer articles. Articles submitted may be edited by us, and compensation is based on the published length.

So, you're invited to write a review of a new tool. Or even a favorite old tool. Tell us (and our readers) step-by-step how you built a project or cut a joint or applied a finish. (Non-profit organizations are welcome to submit free public service announcements that are of general interest to woodworkers, such as meeting dates, membership info, etc.)
