John C. Campbell Folk School

I just got back from teaching turning for a week at the John C. Campbell Folk school:

.
I have been teaching at the school for about 10 years. My students range from novice to very experienced. This year I had two beginners and two that had been turning for about a year. It was so interesting to see the progress each student made over the course of a week. They truly blossomed.
My tip is to go for a week or weekend to a school that teaches turning and immerse yourself in the craft. You will be amazed at the progress you can make. You'll get answers to questions, practical hands-on experience and the camaraderie of your fellow turners. It is something that is not to be missed. It will be the best vacation you could ever have.
Here in the Southeast there are several schools, John C. Campbell, Arrowmount and Penland. There are other good schools all over the good old U S of A, including Highland Woodworking. Seek out a class, improve your turning and have a lot of fun.
