Finish Containers

I taught a turning class at the JC Campbell Folk School last week. This is my eleventh year of teaching. I loaded up the car with all of my tools and wood and headed north from Atlanta, GA to Brasstown, NC, a pleasant two and a half hour drive.
I always forget a few items in the packing rush and this year was no exception. I had brought finishes, solvents and brushes to use on the pieces the students turned. I had forgotten the containers for the finishes and solvents. I looked around and found a stack of yogurt cups someone had left. Voila! I took the top one and filled it with a finish and another with solvent. The one with the solvent dissolved the cup and it ran all over the table. There were different yogurt cups. The one that worked best for both solvents and finishes was Chobani Greek style. This is not a commercial for that brand. There are probably other yogurt cups that will work well. It just so happens that I eat Chobani so I have a ready supply of cups for finishing.
It works for me!
