Sometimes you have to modify a tool to get the job done. If you have been turning long, you probably have a few tools that aren't used very much. I have a lot of tools that I don't use and when I need a tool to do a particular job, I grab an old tool and
grind it
into the shape I need. I have given a lot of demonstrations and when I start to use one of these modified tools, the group wants to know where to buy one. I usually have to spend a short time explaining how I reground it. If you find yourself in need of a particular tool, grind it.
The rounded end scraper I use for boxes, the small tip curved scrapers are for making mushrooms, the broad V tool I use on the outside of turnings and the long V tool is used to reach into small and delicate places.
I have a few other tools that I have modified, but I couldn't find them. Way too many tools.
Don't be afraid to modify and regrind to make it work. If you don't have extra tools then purchase an inexpensive scraper for those limited uses.
It works for me.
