Here's My Woodworking!
By Gary Assarian

I am a woodworker of some 15 years. I get a great deal of pleasure working in the shop and designing my own pieces. I currently have a 750 sq ft shop on top of my garage. I make a large variety of items and have been fortunate enough to sell a few although that is not my goal.
I have learned my craft by attending schools and chatting with local, experienced woodworkers. I am a member of the Michigan Woodworkers Guild which has been a great source of information. The members are always willing to share their knowledge. I was the program director for the Guild for a number of years and was able to attract many nationally known woodworkers to speak in Detroit, including Mark Adams, Chris Schwarz, Glen Huey, George Walker and Jim Heavey just to name a few.
Someday I hope to learn how to use a lathe!
Above is a recent project for my number one client, my wife. We remodeled the bathroom and the mirror fits the decor rather well. It is made of mahogany and bubinga with a Motawi tile inserted in the header.
