With a hand cut / hand stitched cabinet makers rasp, the teeth are randomized just enough in their layout so the cutting action yields a much smoother finish than you can achieve with wood rasps that have machine stamped teeth, which are often quite large, too uniform in layout and make deep trenches into the wood.

The Narex rasps with hand stitched teeth offer different sized teeth, with smaller, more closely spaced teeth punched into the blank, allowing for even smoother cutting results. Hand punched teeth can be set right up to the edge of the rasp blank, so more teeth are available for cutting and you get cutting ability right up to adjacent surfaces. Stock removal remains efficient with a hand cut rasp, yet the surface finish left by the teeth is much improved from machine made wood rasps, so sanding out rasp marks on your shaping and sculpting projects goes much more quickly.

Available in coarse, medium and fine grades of cut. The “fine” has a grade of cut that's close to the grade of cut from the old Nicholson #50 cabinetmakers rasp.

These 10 inch long rasps are 1-1/8″ wide and taper at the tip to 3/4″ wide. They come with a stained hornbeam wood handle with brass ferrule. Carbon steel hardness of 49 RC. Overall length is 15-1/2 inches.
