Veritas Dual Marking Gauge
This full-featured marking gauge saves time by letting you set 2 measurements at once & then alternate between them as you transfer or mark repeating dimensions. These hardened steel wheel cutters precisely scribe lines by cutting, not tearing, the wood fibers. The cutting wheels are oriented with opposing bevels so you can always have the bevel set in the waste side of a cut.
Stainless steel rods extend up to 5-3/4" & an internal O-ring with locking thumbscrew keeps a light tension on the rods for easy adjustments. One cutter is at the extreme end of the rod making it useful for transferring tenon shoulder & mortise depth dimensions. Cutters retract into the face of the large brass head for safe storage.
Note: A great addition to the Veritas Dual Marking Gauge is the Veritas Shaft Clamp . It is designed to fit onto the Veritas Dual Marking Gauge guide rods and the shaft clamp lets you lock the position of the cutters preventing them from shifting while you adjust the fence for offset.
