I have been making kaleidoscopes for a few years now. This one is made from New Zealand Kauri and boxwood. They have three mirrors and two lenses. I also use a pyrography machine to decorate them.
I have the luxury of two midi Teknatool lathes, the Comet I and the brand new Comet II.
I rarely sell the scopes, but barter and trade them for other goods! The other day I discovered that I could take photos of the images by just putting my point and shoot camera up to the end of the kaleidoscope. I have attached one of these images as well.
